Gina Mariko Rosales is the Founder & CEO of Make It Mariko, an SF events agency led by women of color, as well as the Co-Creator of multiple businesses and cultural companies including Weddings In Color, UNDISCOVERED SF Filipino Creative Market, Pinayista, Balay Kreative, and POC Food & Wine Festival. Before building Make It Mariko, Gina was a professional hip hop dancer serving as a former Executive Dancer of Funkanometry SF Dance Company, performing and planning Master Classes at WSPA, and producing the annual showcase, The Sockhop. She trained in freestyle and whacking under master instructors Tiffany Bong and Victor Manoel. Gina's mission is to curate magical, meaningful moments for the community while amplifying the voices of creatives of color. She is committed to building creative, inclusive, and diverse spaces in the events industry — challenging the status quo and paving the way for a new generation of experience curators.

Keziah Green is a southern California educator, practitioner, and doctoral student in Educational Leadership at Cal State Long Beach. With 19 years in education, her work centers in literacy, equity, healing-centered engagement and Hip Hop pedagogy as pathways for supporting urban youth. She is passionate about building spaces where culture, identity, and resilience are recognized as strengths. Her work reflects a commitment to liberation, educational justice, and the transformative power of Hip Hop in schools.

HISTORY OF THE BAY

Facilitator: Dregs One

Influenced by Bay Area culture, Dregs developed a love for rapping and graffiti at an early age, and began recording his own music and painting city streets while still in high school. Over the course of his career, Dregs One has released several critically acclaimed projects, including his 2021 album "Fog Mode" and "Sucka Repellant" in 2022. He has worked with a diverse range of artists, including Andre Nickatina, Spice 1, and Cappadonna of Wu-Tang Clan, and has performed at venues and festivals across the United States, Europe, and Asia. Dregs One's music is known for its introspective lyrics and powerful messages, often addressing social issues and drawing on his unique experience as graffiti writer. He has amassed millions of views for his social media series “History of the Bay” and its accompanying podcast, using his platform to educate viewers around the world about Bay Area culture. In addition to his music career, Dregs One is also an educator and youth advocate, working to promote social justice and combat gentrification in his hometown of San Francisco. He has lectured and performed at colleges and universities, and facilitated community workshops.

Amir Esfahani is an artist and associate professor at Skyline College. His artwork juxtaposes elements of graffiti and traditional Persian art.

Part of the legendary CA crew out of San Francisco. Grudge is a local artist who has participated in Rock The School Bells since 2018 and has also done live painting for Precita Eyes in their yearly Urban Youth Festival in the summer time at Precita Park in the Mission District. Mural production and commissions Grudge has even had the opportunity to paint a  production for Sunset Youth Services and Internet Archive both non profit organizations in San Francisco.

Facilitator: DJ Don Don

DonDon is a San Francisco-based turntablist who has competed and placed in both local and international DJ battles, including Skratchpad and DMC. Deeply rooted in Hip Hop culture, he brings a genuine love and technical precision to everything he touches on the decks. Off the battle stage, he's passionate about giving back — teaching fundamental DJ skills to the next generation of artists. Scratching is where his heart is, and it shows in how he teaches it.

Engaging Hip Hop and Community Solidarity Towards Action

Facilitator: Lauren Kelly

Lauren Leigh Kelly is an Associate Professor in the Graduate School of Education at Rutgers University and the founder of the Hip Hop Youth Research and Activism Conference. Lauren taught high school English for ten years in New York where she also developed courses in Hip Hop Literature and Culture, Spoken Word poetry, and Theatre Arts.  She is the author of Teaching with Hip Hop in the 7-12 Grade Classroom: A Guide to Supporting Students’ Critical Development through Popular Texts, published by Routledge and co-editor of the Bloomsbury Handbook of Critical Hip Hop Pedagogy.

Fego Navarro is a Salvadoran American artist and filmmaker from San Francisco, California. He serves as Creative Director of Lyrical Opposition, a California-based 501(c)(3) arts nonprofit and artist collective that cultivates lyrical artists to challenge injustice through social awareness and systemic change. Adonis Marcelino, known online as Adonis Eats, is a Bay Area content creator, Marine Corps veteran, and community advocate who highlights the culture and stories behind local food. Raised in San Francisco and Daly City, his platform focuses on uplifting small businesses, preserving neighborhood culture, and documenting the real voices behind the Bay’s food scene. Through storytelling, community events, and social media, Adonis uses food as a lens to talk about culture, authenticity, and connection. (IG: imadoniseats)

Jason Wu, also known as Dragon of the West, is a rapper and producer from San Francisco, California. Much like a dragon for which he is named after, he delivers a fiery presence of energy and charisma every time he performs on a stage. He started writing music when he was 13 years old as a method of venting and therapy, and has continued to make music ever since. Dragon fuses his foundation of lyrical hip-hop with jazz, lo-fi, rock, and k-pop, alongside a theme of finding identity as an Asian American immigrant through music. He currently works at Sunset Youth Services as a Creative Lead to help the next generation of artists with their own musical passions. (IG: @dragonofthewest1995)


Gabriella is a Bay Area content creator, actress, and founder of Bay Area Baddies, a community that brings ambitious women together through curated events and experiences. Through her content, she shares insights on building a personal brand, navigating your 20s, and turning creativity into real opportunities both online and in real life. (IG: @gabbyfranco)

Jobeth Devera is an Emmy®-winning host, producer, and journalist turned independent creator and storyteller. After spending more than 15 years in television news and lifestyle media, including most recently on NBC’s California Live, she is now the founder of Still Eating Good, a digital series spotlighting food, culture, community, and the stories that connect us. Through her work, Jobeth is passionate about uplifting local businesses, under-told voices, and the richness of Filipino, AANHPI and Bay Area communities. She is currently building a new chapter in media rooted in authentic storytelling, entrepreneurship, and impact.

Kieem Baker is a 5 time Telly Award videographer, activist, and philanthropist in San Francisco. He founded The City Eats in 2014 with a mission to eradicate hunger throughout the nation by spreading awareness through feedings, mentorships, and fundraising programs. His reach extends from the San Francisco Bay Area to the Philippines and Ghana in addition to the knowledge he shares with other non-profit organizations, such as, All in SF, Code Tenderloin, LavaMae, and more. Kieem has been recognized and awarded by Hennessy, Impact Warriors, California Legislature Assembly by Matt Haney, and Proclamation for City Eats Day by Mayor Daniel Lurie for doing an exceptional job for the community through his humanitarian work. Furthermore, with over 7 years of experience as a Videographer and in Multimedia Marketing, he has been able to establish a following of volunteers and partnerships with local organizations. This includes Fortune 500 companies, such as Adobe, New York Life, Warriors, Empire, Senor Sisig, and Twitter to contribute towards The City Eats programs. 


Tinisch Hollins is a leader, advocate, entrepreneur, and survivor committed to building safer, healthier communities. She serves as the Executive Director of Californians for Safety and Justice, where she has helped lead a statewide movement to redefine public safety, shifting the focus from punishment alone to prevention, healing, and opportunity.

Under her leadership, CSJ has helped pass groundbreaking laws and secure historic investments in trauma recovery, violence intervention, reentry services, addiction treatment, and workforce development. She and her team have championed first-in-the-nation laws that have opened the door for second chances at employment, housing, and stability for thousands of Californians with old records.

A proud daughter of San Francisco, Tinisch co-founded San Francisco Black Wall Street, an organization that has supported more than 100 Black-owned businesses across the Bay Area while celebrating culture, entrepreneurship, and community pride. In February 2025, the organization launched its first social enterprise, Nineteen21 Lounge, a members-only restaurant and event space designed to foster connection, culture, and economic empowerment.

Isabel Bagsik (she/her) is a Soulful Creative Director & Wellness Guide. She helps mystical compassionate healers, entrepreneurs, visionaries and revolutionary leaders launch their innovative projects and get paid for their culture-shifting creative gifts by excavating their authentic and attention-grabbing brand universe. Isabel’s unique methodology incorporates creative rituals, rest practices, and original, personalized design strategy. She spent 10+ years designing for high profile businesses, brands like Google & Target, organizations like CAIR, LEAD Filipino, and University of California Davis, and changemakers like Stephen Curry and Michelle Obama and launched a successful magazine “Brown Papaya,” leading her to discover an effortless and pleasurable branding process that she applied to successfully launching her current business.

Phil Alapati is of Samoan descent and a true San Francisco native. He is a son, husband, father, sports fan, music lover, coach, thriving and active community member.  Family and faith are my biggest prides. I’ve been fortunate to find passion and love for barbering and my career. I’ve been barbering since 2004. Started at Bay View Barber College in San Francisco. From not knowing much about the industry then and servicing my first haircut in barber college to having deep respect and knowledge of my craft has been gratifying. Started as an interest in being one of the best moves I’ve ever made. Thank you to all my family, friends, barber brothers, and supporters for allowing me and the Philgood Cuts brand to exist and grow!
